Mike Pisano Classic 2018
Scotch Plains NJ
Hey Race Fans,
Thank you all for your support! Please see below for Mario's comments:
On Friday Aug 31st at NJ Hobby in Scotch Plains, we ran the
6th annual Mike Pisano "CLASSIC" slot car race honoring my son Mike
who we tragically lost 6 years ago from leukemia. The race was run
under the rules and regulations of the ECHORR race group headed by
Hiram,a 6 lane 3 minute heat per lane race run in IROC format with 6
super stock Daytona Superbirds with slip on rear silicones built with
parts supplied by Hiram and myself and expertly prepared by
Hiram,Pitstop,Derek Wright and myself. All racers were supplied with
Professor Motors controllers so all we needed to do was show up and race.
It was great night of very competitive racing as 23 racers attended
from 4 states with the top 3 racers within 2 laps and the top 13
racers with in 10 laps after 18 minutes of racing. Kevin Price
defended his title again with Jerry "Texas" Boswell in 2nd and I was 3rd.
This is our 3rd year of the IROC format which has
been very successful in the past and it will be our format for all
future CLASSIC races. The winner was presented with a 1st place
trophy as well as a new in the box original Aurora pit kit donated and
signed by Henry "The Champ" Harnish as well as having his name placed
on the memorial CLASSIC plaque.
I would like to personally thank Joe for proposing this race 6 years
ago at his shop, Hiram for allowing this race to be part of the ECHORR
group and all racers who have participated in the all the races.
 This year Henry Harnish,Joe Corea,Derek Wright,Guy Graziano,Rob
Maul,Ray Kurts and myself donated 2 doors prizes to all racers,2 new
DS controllers were auctioned off and several generous racers donated
cash all in the name of Mike to donate to the Leukemia foundation for
the 6th straight year to help fight this horrible disease.
 Thank You, Mario
